Complete brand creation from scratch.
The sports branding for Lodestar involved Crate47 developing a whole new lifestyle brand from scratch for a group of enterprising enthusiasts. This involved researching the sector; choosing a brand name; creating the logo design with accompanying brand elements; label, tag, and packaging design; sticker and t-shirt design; as well as generating visual content for social media and the e-commerce website that we also designed and built. This was an extensive undertaking that brought all our skills to bear on it, being a lot more involved than the usual branding project.

Zig zag tags, labels and packaging.
An essential part of the sports branding was the chevron pattern we developed. This was used on a variety of different labels, swing tags and packaging; All of which were sourced by us. We even found an interesting use for coffee bags – They were used to pack the T-Shirts in!
T-shirts, badges and stickers designed in-house.
We were responsible for generating the artwork used on their T-shirts, embroidered badges, and stickers. This included original illustrations and hand-drawn typography created in-house. All of the designs were made to fit with the overall style of our sports branding and the aesthetic of the target audience.
We wanted to tie in Lodestar’s nature of adventure with the urban underground look that encompasses all the sports and lifestyles that are represented.
Product, lifestyle and portrait photography.
We shot much of the photography for the Lodestar website – not just the product shots and clothing layouts but the fashion and lifestyle shots too – as well as action shots of the diverse range of sports they cover. The team portrait photographs were particularly challenging. They had to encapsulate the 50/50 split between work and play of the brand representatives which was an important aspect of Lodestar’s sports branding.
