Our content creation captures the whole story at multiple locations.
Through our sculpture photography and video production, Crate47 recorded the creation of two pieces of work for the artist Lee Simmons. As an artist, his work brings together sculpture and architecture as well as the surrounding environment and can be seen at some of the most iconic locations in London.
For the sculptures ‘Quadrilindear’ and ‘Novem Incrementum’ we documented the process of creation from design and manufacture to installation; photographing artwork while it was being fabricated through to its completion. Our art photography and video record were then used for visual content on both his, and Littlehampton Welding’s websites and social media. Both projects required extensive content creation, and from May to November 2018 the Crate47 Productions team used a variety of sculpture photography, architectural photography, and video which was shot on location across London and the south-east of the UK.

Cataloguing two projects simultaneously.
In order to provide the visual story behind each piece, we scheduled time with the artist at his studio in Hertfordshire during the early stages of the design process. Then with the team at Littlehampton Welding for the main fabrication as well as the installation of the completed sculptures on location.
During each stage, the production team shot high-resolution sculpture photography images of the key development stages, and produced 4K video footage – utilising state-of-the-art handheld DSLR systems; mounted GoPro cameras for a time-lapse video; and our drone for aerial footage.
Compelling content that tells a story.
The end result provided Lee Simmons and Littlehampton Welding with a library of high-resolution images that captured both projects in their entirety. Our sculpture photography shows the finished pieces in situ; while the final edited videos offer a wider insight into just how complex these projects truly were.
