Hogarth Chambers are barristers with pre-eminence in I.P. (Intellectual Property) law.

Our lawyer branding for Hogarths needed to retain a sense of the heritage and tradition associated with an established barrister chambers while at the same time making them appear as approachable and forward-thinking as they actually are. This was the first in a number of projects involving branding for law firms that we have subsequently completed and it still stands the test of time.

Clean and contemporary lawyer branding and application.

We have the same strategically creative approach to branding for law firms that we do to everything we do. This means that we only start designing when we’ve developed a strong brand strategy. We begin with market research and focused discussion. Once we’ve established the direction that the lawyer branding should take we then explore our initial ideas with sketches. After that, we move into the digital realm to work up the strongest concepts into finished logo designs and develop any sub-branding such as typography and patterns. We’ll also look at things like the style of imagery to be used and any other elements of the brand’s visual identity. We then prepare the chosen designs for presentation to the client.

Once their final choice has been selected and undergone any fine-tuning, we can proceed with the application of the brand. This can cover any touch-points required, including the website, print items, adverts, marketing collateral, and so on. We wanted our lawyer branding for Hogarths to fuse the old with the new. With this in mind, we developed a clean and contemporary written logo design together with a simple marque that was based on the shape of a traditional wax seal that could be used independently. For the colours, we chose a modern blue to convey trustworthiness combined with light greys to soften the branding. A repeat pattern of the marque was developed to be used across all media when sub-branding was required.

An uncluttered, user-friendly law firm website design

With a strong emphasis on usability and clean, uncluttered design throughout, we used clever CSS 3 animations to hide away a lot of the heavy content needed on a law firm website design. We also developed an animated search function, that enables the user to filter the barristers by practice areas or surname.

We undertook all of the content creation for the website. We used candid portrait shots of the barristers sitting at their desks to portray a more relaxed appearance and emphasise their individual personalities. The style of the portrait photography and the look of the website are all part of our lawyer branding for Hogarths.
