Crate47 & Lodestar Apparel Brand Design

‘WIN OUT – The best of Sports Graphic Design and Branding’

Sports branding and Apparel Brand design is something the Crate47 team has always found influential, not only in our own lifestyle choices but also within the studio as inspiration for brand research and development.

We have completed a number of apparel branding projects over the years, and it wasn’t until recently that the work we created for Lodestar Apparel was given some notable coverage by the amazing team over at Sandu Publications and Gingko Press. We were taken aback when they asked if we would like to feature in their book entitled ‘WIN OUT – The best of Sports Graphic Design and Branding” featuring Lodestar alongside sports brand giants like Nike, and putting us within the “X-factor of sports design”.

The book itself has a unique cover design that mirrors the content within,  and it has been carefully developed to showcase over 80 handpicked creative brands that have established an identity and created a visual language to inspire positivity.

From world-famous games like the Olympics to local sports clubs and smaller apparel brands, ‘WIN OUT: The best of Sports Graphic Design and Branding’ offers an insight into the possibilities of branding and marketing in a very competitive industry.

For Lodestar we wanted to target that area of competitiveness but also highlight the work-life split that most non-pro or semi-pro sportspeople have in their lives. It was key to us that in creating the brand it must remain accessible to all.

Our work for Lodestar features on pages 42 – 43 of the book, under the ‘Apparel & Equipment’ section, and offers an inciteful snapshot of the core brand identity we established, the initial process of design, our apparel creation, and the visual language shown in our product and action sports photography.

The full project for Lodestar apparel can be seen here within our selected works, and more information about our Branding services can be found here.
